Halloween Fun

OK so it's almost Thanksgiving and yep - I'm posting Halloween pics. Cassie this year was a "spell caster witch" (so the packaging says) and Brook was a cowgirl. Brook found the hat when we where shopping detached from the costume bag and would not take it off, she wore it all through the store. she loves, LOVES, hats. Everytime we leave she points to her head and tries in her little but demanding voice to say hat but it just doesn't come out luckily we understand the pointing gestures! Cassie had a great time taking Brook around at the trunk-r-treats and collecting candy that neither one of them will eat and it will probably sit in our cabinet till next year and I through it away. Most of it Cassie can't eat anyways so Aaron always takes a stash for work. We just don't eat alot of candy. I think I found some from last Christmas from her stocking that she never touched. (it did get thrown away, however it was tempting to give it away to the teenager kids that kept pounding on our door when the lights where out) Anyway hope everyone had a great Halloween and getting ready for some great Turkey and pumpkin pie! YUMMMM

October Fun

October is coming to an end and it seems like it just got started! Our life and schedules seem to be so crazy this time of year (or an time for that matter). We had a great conference weekend drive to Mirror Lake and saw some beautiful fall colors. Attempted to do family pictures but Brook was mre interested in running around and picking up leaves, rocks, twigs and getting dirty than anything else. It was a great day we spent together. My step-dad has been in the hospital the majority of this month, hopefully he will get to come home sometime this week, it was a rough time for him and pretty scary for all of us. It really makes you think about your loved ones and that every moment of every day is so precious.
For the last two weeks I have enjoyed a much needed break from school and made lots of crafty things, halloween wreath, painted pumpkins with twine, BOO blocks, trick or treat pumpkins, count your blessings board, family home evening clipboard, decorated clipboard. I will have pictures up in a few days. Cassie and I had fun, she is a great help and loves to craft along with me! Brook had a great time re-arranging my craft room supplies what a great little helper (our motto - can't find it look low and in every container and even in the trash can) :)

Ok - So I was very excited to go to the scrapbook expo and for the week prior created 31 digital scrapbook pages. (an attempt to get caught up and that was only 3 months worth but for 3 different albums) Any how, it was advertised through Scrapbook USA Expo website that Shiny Nickels was going to be there and offering a great deal for those that attend and there by 4pm to download their files then pick back up that night after 7pm sounds great so far, for 1.00 you get your 12x12 print and 2 6x6 prints - promotional - again awesome deal. I was excited. I gave them my disk and they downloaded the files and all was good and was told to come back around 7-7:30 and then I could pay and pick up my prints. I came back NO ONE WAS AT THEIR BOOTH. They told the neighboring booth they were gone for the night. WHAT REALLY! No phone call, (which they had my cell) Nothing. Saturday 1-2 hours before the expo was to close I got a phone call stating that they had my prints and I could come pick them up - Seriously - Not good customer service at all. I didn't get the message till monday and when I called back. I told the owner that I wasn't happy with the service that I received I was there - He proceeded to almost blame me because they were there at 4:30 - kindly reminded him of the arrangement 7-7:30. In the meantime on Saturday morning I did talk to the lady in charge of the expo and raised my concerns about the advertising of this individual as I was not the only one that they jipped off. Luckily no money was exchanged. When I asked him what the total will be he stated that oh about 30 dollars or so. I told him I will go ahead and pay but I would never recommend his company to anyone. He said that he would let me have them at no charge and would bring them to me the next day. I was home all day - no show, next day no show, I gave up finally on saturday they showed up on my doorstep. The quality TERRIBLE - they are not true 12x12's trying to cut them is HORRIBLE they are printed off and the 6x6's are NOT 6x6's whatsoever. One is more like 6xsomething and the other 6xsomething else. FRUSTRATING - Then to top it all off - So glad I did not have to pay for them - I didn't even get all 31 pages only 25 and he was going to have me pay $30 something? This company does not know how to do business and I would NEVER go through them EVER! So to my scrapbooking friends - don't waste your time on what might seem a good deal because really it is worth paying the extra money to ensure that your memories are printed from a quality printing service that you know and trust.
(FYI - he will most likely not be returning to the expo as there where other problems and trust issues with this vendor other then what I had!)

Here are some of the Easter Pics of the Girls. I decided this year that I would make their dresses, which ended up being a skirts. Brooks initially was a dress and then I got frustrated and wacked it off and made a skirt. Then I was happy how it turned out.

On May 5 we went up Cottonwood Canyon on a "nice" day. There is still soooo much snow up there. We were able to capture some wildlife. It was so beautiful. Cassie loved playing around in the snow without a coat, gloves, etc.

Lots of SNOW!!! Cassie was bummed that we didn't hike around - she is CRAZY. She said, it's ok it's pretty packed down mom. We won't fall through to the lake underneath there is too much snow. I am glad she is so observant but I was not about to test it out. Simply stated "maybe next time" (without mom ok dad). Love her to pieces and her adventurous side, just wish it wasn't so risky at times.

I promise I have not gone COMPLETELY crazy....well maybe alittle! We told Cassie she could have a party (this was several months ago) and in April we watched on the Disney Channel "Lemonade Mouth" well needless to say this was the theme for her summer party!!! So we had a ton of fun and wished we could have done more and she is already planning another party - involving flip flops and glitter nails and toes - let your imagination run with this one. It will be fun. So here are some of our creations for this party that is going on now!

We had pizza, popcorn, cookies, popsicles, fun, laughs, singing, dancing it was great to see Cassie in her element with some of her friends.

I love all this new digital scrapbooking - for .13 a print at costco you can do alot. Napkin rings (4 on a 4x6 print), invites, tags for the treat bags, so much fun. While I love my cricut and traditional scrapbooking when you are tight on time and some funds you don't have to have all the colors and embellishments of traditional scrapbooking. So excited for more fun parties this summer now that the weather is warm. I found our Easter Picture so I will have to edit and post those later!

Catch up Part 1

It has been a while so I thought I had better get started on my catch up. Life has been crazy with school, being a mom, wife, sister, daughter, etc. We have had a ton of fun - we got bikes and have enjoyed several bike riding trips and are getting to know some trails around and hope to broden our scenic routes. I will have to post pics in Part 2, Brook really enjoys going for bike rides and doesn't fuss with her helmet. We are so looking forward to the warmer weather and for it to stop raining. Here are some fun pics of the girls. Brook turned 1 in March and has developed quite the personality and tolerance for Cassie in playing dress up.

We also went to the Childrens Gateway Museum and the girls had a great time

Brook also has some crazy curls that are so funny because all of us have very STRAIGHT hair.

We decorated Sugar cookies for easter at Grandmas house and Cassie wants to learn how to decorate cakes! (Fun but horrible for me because I love a great sugar cookie!)

Me and my baby girl on her first Birthday! So exciting but also so sad. Our last but we are enjoying every moment with our two angels. It is such a blessing to see both of them grow and how similar they are and how much love they both have for each other.

I honestly don't know why one has to take Psychology for a Business Major! I am not fond of my um I guess you would call her a teacher, she is so contradictory, I can't stand it. She gives an assignment and tells you she wants personal experiences and how it relates to the readings. So you do so and then she docs you points on the paper for giving personal experiences. UGH! When you question her she states, there wasn't enough stated? Seriously does she really need to know every nook and crany about my life and those in it. She is NOT MY psychologist and if she was I wouldn't be going back a second time that's for sure!

Ok enough of my rantings! I guess I am frustrated with this class and am dreading a 5 page research paper that is due on the 14th, go figure, she must not have a life if she planned this paper to be do on VALENTINES DAY!!

I love my Busines class, I feel pretty good about it. After passing a quiz while dooped up on Lortab and from just coming out of the hospital I passed it with a B I was pleased. I am recovering slower than I thought I would. I thought that I would be able to not take anything for the pain but that was a mistake. At least I am able to lift Brook most of the time. Cassie has been such a tremendous help so glad she was off track for this. I do have a funny post about my hospital experiences I will post sometime. Glad this part of my life is done!!! Hopefully will be rid of severe, cripaling, cramping pain all month long. I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to have 2 wonderful daughters, glad I was never able to schedule the hysterectomy during the summer of 2009, Heavenly Father definately kept intervening for a great reason. Hope all is well with everyone have a great Valentines if I don't post till then.

Fleece Projects for Christmas

For the last couple of days my living room downstairs has been invaded by fleece - I have completed 18 items & so glad to have them completed - Here are my creation! I had a fun time doing these.

These are scarf sets with arm warmers for Cassie (Pink, Purple, and Lime Green)

The flowers for each of the scarves that could be interchanged if she wanted.

Cassie has always wanted a snuggie - go figure so this year I gave in but I am on a very tight budget with only having basicly 1 income so I have improvisedd this year and decided to make gifts like these. It turned out cute can't wait to see it on her!

Cassie already thinks that I am out of my mind and can't figure out why I am making all these fleece things and so I had her model these arm warmers. She loves them and doesn't know these are for her one out of each color. We will do more embellishing later. Haven't found what I want or like yet.

Like I said on a budget - every year Cassie has been able to get an outfit for each of her Build a Bears (she has 3 and Brook has 1) so I didn't really want to break the tradition and so instead of $10 - $12 per bear I made little night gowns and bear snuggle bags for each of the 4 bears for only $15.00 - this included all the above fleece projects also!

And of course we couldn't leave out Brook's new dollie and the one that Santa will be bringing her so I made Baby doll snuggle wraps for them as well (1 purple - 1 lime green)

Hey I had to get all the use out of the fabric - not pictured but tons of little flowers like the ones I did on the purple scarf out of each of the colors. I will find something to do with them all. I have had such fun making these little things. (ps - instead of glueing the flowers I serged them so it made it really fast - if anyone wants to know more information just let me know)

Ok - It has been quite a while since I have posted things. Things have been a bit crazy and busy. It is amazing how a 9 year difference makes between kids and how much you forget - the sleepless nights, forgetfullness (which I thought was attributed to the pregnancy), and various other things that I can't seem to remember!!!! Anyway here are some pictures of my girls in there Halloween garb. It was quite a bummer for Cassie the trunk or treat was well raining! So there was very little candy but we made up for it with a movie night and pizza and just some fun family time. She can't eat alot of the candy anyways and she was really great with it. She was so excited to hand out the candy to all the trick or treaters that came to our door.

TIM MCGRAW CONCERT - VIP PASSES WOW WHAT A SHOW

Ok I know that it is now after midnight but my ears are still ringing and I will have to post pics tomorrow. We just had the most awesome evening Cassie and I. My sis - Marilee - has kept in touch with Tim McGraw's manager and she scored for the 2nd time VIP Passes. This year I was able to go and being that we didn't have a babysitter for Brook - Aaron was so gracious and Cassie and I went. It was a long wait but so worth it - the heat sweat and more heat and more sweat. We had the royal treatment. We had the preparty show that was catered by Outback - great food and a little mini concert and question - answer with Tim McGraw then we got to back backstage in the VIP area and talk with Tim and take pictures it was so awesome. Cassie had him sign her hat that she will now treasure for ever. We got signed autograph pics he hugged us and shook our hands - YES I said HUG!!!! Lady Antebellum was there as well at the concert. Cassie got guitar pics from her band and Tim Mcgraw's band. It was such an awesome experience. Our seats were right up front where he comes out into the middle of the crowd we were there - WOW!!! During one of the songs in the beginning Cassie was reaching to touch his hand and she fell over the chair in front of us - Tim came back around and reached for just her hand and shock it. She was on cloud nine. Then towards the end of the show was the real treat. Cassie got to go ON STAGE AND DANCE WITH TIM MCGRAW AND HE KISSED HER HAND. She was so excited we got some cute pics. It was such a wonderful experience for her that she will remember forever. I only wish I had brought my GOOD camera as the battery on my little camera died, UGH. But thank goodness for friends that took all the rest of the pics for me. WOW is all I can say. My ears are still ringing a bit. You could feel your body shake from the bass speakers that were right under the stage. THANK YOU MARILEE!!!! THANK YOU AARON for watching Brook I have such a wonderful Hubby!

It was a crazy day taking family pics of all the Rapp side of the family at the beginning of this month. Trying to get 7 children under 9 years of age, 2 babies, 2 teenagers and 10 adults to all cooperate and smile at the same time, almost impossible. I am finally getting around to updating somethings. Life has been quite hectic and time has passed so fast. Brook is almost 3 months old, Cassie is finishing up 3rd grade, Aaron is glad it is summer and I am enjoying being a stay at home mom.

Brook in her blessing dress - I will have to post a full body one but can't locate it at this time. I loved her smile on this picture.

She is starting to smile and laugh - She loves to see Cassie in the mornings and her face lights up when she comes in the room. I feel so blessed that they have such a wonderful connection and hope that will continue as they get older.

Aaron is not one for the hair accessories and neither is Cassie, she constantly checks to see if it is leaving any marks on Brooks little head and will remove the hair band if it is. I can't win for losing on this - I was so hoping to get to use all these hair accessories that Cassie doesn't use and never has really used. Hopefully that will change!

Cassie and Brook both couldn't wait for pictures to be done!

They look so excited. Cassie is such a tremendous help. She loves to hold Brook before school in the mornings. I welcome the help and miss her while she is at school during the day.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was such an aswesome day this year. We blessed Brook. It was such a spiritual filled day with lots of emotions. Cassie woke up early and was so excited - she stated that she had waited for this day for such a long time. She is such a great big sister and such a tremendous help to Aaron and I.

For the Grandmother's we made these cards and also did them for the Activity Day girls for their Mother's Day gifts. I think they turned out really cute.

Funny Things!

If you could use a good laugh read on....
1. A couple of weeks ago I was so proud of myself that I got everyone up and ready for Church and was ready for church. Aaron had a Young Mens meeting at 9:30am and we don't go to church till 1pm. So you think well of course you would or should have time to get everyone up, ready, fed, bathed, changed, dressed for church all the church bags packed etc. Well for me it is or can be challenging. I was so pleased and happy we were going to be early to church. So out the door we headed door was about to be locked and I was in the car and thought to myself, I love these shoes. They are sooooo comfy! I couldn't believe when I looked down to see what shoes I had on and realized they were my PINK FUZZY MEMORY FOAM SLIPPERS!!!!! I ran and yelled to Aaron to NOT lock the front door. Needless to say we did not make it to church right on time.
2. As if I didn't learn the 1st time a few days later I did the same thing except I was in the car had it started when I realized that those darn PINK FUZZY SLIPPERS were on my feet again. Off I ran back into the house to put on the correct shoes before heading out to doctors appointments!
3. Made Brook a bottle and was holding her and she was eagerly awaiting her bottle when after I made it I put everything away and put the bottle in the fridge and couldn't figure out why she was still fussy.... DUH I didn't feed her the bottle.
4. A simple little mistake that is made by Aaron and myself - we keep getting the girls mixed up. I keep calling Brook Cassie - all day long. Aaron was so afraid that when we blessed her that he would say Cassie's name instead of her. Thankfully this did not happen so now we are just working on it at home.

We have had several laughs at my expense and I am blaming it on being Brain dead from lack of sleep. I think that is a pretty good excuse.

My wonderful sister, Rosalie, was in town this past week and she has started a photography business up in Washington and she had fun taking pics of Brook and our Family. My favorite is the top one of Cassie holding Brook. It is just so precious. THANKS ROSALIE!!! It was really hard to choose from the Black and White or the Color but I only posted these. There were too many favorites so I really tried to limit it. There will be more to post of the rest of the family.

We are all adjusting and doing well! At Brook's 2 week appointment last week she has gained almost 1 pound and 1 inch! We love our new little addition and Cassie loves being a big sister! I am sad to say I really miss her help. She started back on track this morning and we had to be prepared and had everything ready last night to make this morning go smoother. We made it to school on time. Cassie was a little sad to say goodbye to Brook she made sure that she gave hugs and kisses before leaving the car but didn't remember to give me any. She is so funny. We are so blessed to have these girls in our lives!

1 Week Old - We are getting used to getting up every 3 hours to eat but it is all worth it. Just look at that face and it melts my heart! We are so thankful for this wonderful blessing in our lives!

Brook loves her hands and if she can figure out to untuck her thumb it would be in her mouth. She tries and Cassie is encouraging this. I am not. You can't take away a thumb but you can a binkie!

We are so excited to announce that she has finally arrived - Brook Lynn was born at 3:28 on Thursday. She was 6 lbs 1 ounce and 19 inches long. Everyone is healthy and doing well. We were so excited on Thursday that we didn't get much sleep. It is a wonderful blessing to have another little one in our family. She doesn't like things too quite. She looks so much like Cassie did. Cassie has been a little mother hen and loves to help. She gets in and wants to change any diaper and help bath and get her ready for the day. We will have some more pics to post in the next few days.

We have been so anxiously awaiting the arrival of our new little one and time is coming to an end!!! YEAH!!! Tomorrow is the big day and we are so excited. We will see if any of us get any sleep tonight!

It's been a while!

It has been quite a while since I have posted an update. We are still here and anxiously awaiting the arrival of our little one. I am at the point of counting down the time. I will start my Leave of Absence from work on the 23 of this month YEAH!!! Cassie is getting really excited and has stated that for her Birthday she wants the Baby to come - on her Birthday!! We shall see on that one. The end of January we finished up Cassie's new bedroom and she is all moved in and loving it. She loves to be able to listen to her music and sing as loud as she can without us telling her to quite it a little. Now we just need an intercom system so she can hear when we are calling her. The babies room is slowly coming together. We didn't have to repaint so that was a save on time. It will be easier to post things when I am not working full time and getting things ready for baby! Pics will soon come.

The Verdict is in!!!!!

So today we had an UltraSound......and the verdict is that we are having a GIRL!!!!! We were all very surprised we thought that it would be a boy for sure but we are so excited that it is a girl. Aaron stated that he was kind of relieved because he knows what is coming with the girls. We took Cassie out of school a little early so she could be there to see the Ultrasound. She was so excited when we were told that it was a girl and that there were no boy parts there! It was so fun to see. We are very excited and looking forward to this new adventure. So the name so far that we have picked out is Brook Lynn we aren't certain on the spelling or if it will be 2 or 1 word. We will keep everyone updated.

18 weeks now, had a doctors appointment on Tuesday and heard the heart beat with the doppler thing and it was so exciting. It seems more real now. We are anxiously awaiting the 19th of this month. We will get to find out Boy or Girl. Cassie is so excited. The anticipated date of our newest addition will hopefully be March 10, 2010!!!

Conference Weekend

This weekend has went by so fast and now it is starting the 1st full week of October. We enjoyed our annual trip down to Nephi and did the Nebo Loop. The fall colors were beautiful!!! We stayed at a hotel and the swimming pool was indoor and heated and it was wonderful. It was cold and snowy on the top but still beautiful. I will post some pics when I have a little more time. We are frantically working on completing the bedroom downstairs for Cassie. The closet has been started and she is getting excited.
Cassie is counting down the weeks till we find out if we are having a boy or a girl. She asks everyday do we have to wait till the end of the month really, it is so far away! Needless to say the excitement is still there.

Family

This last 2 weeks have been very difficult for my family. We had to say goodbye to my brother - Curtis. It was very difficult and our thoughts and prayers are with his wife of only 2 months - LoriAnn. Sometimes in life somethings are hard to understand why the life of a loved one was taken from us too early. He was finally so happy after loosing Melanie who died in May 2008. LoriAnn made him smile and laugh again. He was so full of life.
So I plead with anyone out there that has a motorcyle and rides without a helmet. PLEASE, PLEASE for the sake of your family, friends and other loved ones ware a helmet. Curt and LoriAnn did what they loved - riding his special edition Harley - Labor Day Weekend. To make a long story short - hit a patch of gravel and crashed. Curt was criticall condition and severe brain and head injuries along with various broken bones. We said many prayers that he would be able to make it out ok - but the verdict came last Saturday that there was less than 10% brain activity. They asked the family to make the most difficult decision that anyone would have to make in this lifetime. On Wednesday morning he was taken off life support and passed at 7:30am.
We had his funeral on Friday and it was a very difficult day for my Mom and Roger and of course LoriAnn. Curt was a giant that stood over 6'4" and looked very rough. His outward appearance did not come close to what was in his heart. He was a very kind and loving giant who was such a teddy bear. He was respected and loved his Harley. He left this earth way to soon but we know that he will be joined with his mother - SarahAnn. I am so thankful for the gospel in our lives to know that this is not the end. The outpouring of love and support that our family received from MacKay Dee hospital and friends, ward members was so awesome. I know that this has touched LoriAnn and we continue to pray for her that she will have the strength she needs to go forward.
So PLEASE be careful when riding adn were a helmet!

Well, I have decided to go ahead and write about what is happening in our lives since most of you are close friends and our family. As you know we had our plan and have delt with what the Lord puts in front of us. We have been so blessed in our 16 years of Marriage - yes we cound the struggles and trials as blessings also because they make us who we are today. Aaron and I have delt with our share of heart aches when it comes to Family (children). We were married for 8 years before we were so greatly blessed with Cassie who is now 8 1/2 years old. We love her dearly and are so eternally grateful for the wonderful spirit that she brings into our home. We were told with my last surgery that this was it for us. We have delt with it and have had many struggles over the last 8 years that our family was complete. We were making changes and scheduling surgeries due to endometriosis, etc. We were OK with things. Then over the last month I have felt CRAPPY and it just continually got worse. Well I have had many months like this and I was bracing myself for the pain and thinking I just can't wait till the surgery for all this to be done and overwith. Well the Lord saw fit another plan and we were taken by COMPLETE SURPRISE AND DISBELIEF. Last week we found out that we have been blessed with the opportunity to have another BABY!!!! Yes you heard me right. It has been confirmed and we had an Ultrasound today and heard the Babies heart beat. I am 8 weeks. So far so good. We told Cassie tonight because we couldn't keep why Mom was feeling so sick all the time away. She is so excited and just beamed with joy. Aaron and I were very nervous and we still are cautious because so many things can happen. But we are truly blessed and excited for this miracle. 8 years later!!!! WOW. Anyway so far the due date is March 27th which is my Grandpa Myers' Birthday!!!! But my doctor is wonderful and she stated that she won't let me go that far!!! She will enduce because of complications I had with Cassie they don't want to risk it with my history and all. They will be keeping a close eye on me and for that I am thankful that the Lord guided me to a wonderful new Doctor that is really up and on top of things. Anyway - That is what's going on in our lives!!! I will post pics of Cassie and things we did this summer (Moab 20 miles in hiking) it really was a lot of fun. The 20 miles was done over 3 days!!!

Cinnamon Rolls

These are seriously the BEST CINNAMON ROLLS - EVER!!!!! I made them this weekend and they are HUGE! Do you remember Cinnabon? I think they are just as good if not better then them. You have to try them.

Ward Council Cinnamon Rolls

Makes 2 dozen Cinnamon Rolls

4 ½ cups Hot Water
1 Cup Vegetable Oil
3 Eggs
3 TBSP Instant Yeast
2/3 Cup Sugar
2 TBSP Salt
9-12 Cups Flour

Place hot water in Large Mixer and add all ingredients except flour. Add Flour starting with 9 Cups and adding more as needed to make a soft dough. Knead until all water is absorbed. Then dump dough out onto floured board, kneading by hand until smooth. Rest dough for 15 minutes.

Divide dough into 2 pieces. Roll each piece out into rectangle about 12 x 8 and brush ½ cube softened butter per rectangle of dough. Sprinkle on cinnamon & sugar mixture. (about ¾ cup sugar mixed with 2 TBSP ground cinnamon) Roll up from long side and cut each rectangle into 12 slices @ 1 ¼” to 1 ½” thick. (Once rolled up cut ½ and then each half in half, then into 3rds from there)

Spray baking pans with Pam and place 12 rolls per pan (use large cookie sheets or use a 9 x 13 and place 6 per pan) Cover with plastic wrap loosely and let rise. It usually takes about ½ hour however it may take longer in the winter or in a colder room. Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 – 25 minutes until just slightly browned. Let cool for no more than 5 minutes and frost with thin powdered sugar frosting.

FROSTING:
1 cup Heavy Cream
1 TBSP Vanilla
2 lbs Powdered Sugar

Heat 1 cup Heavy Cream in glass bowl in microwave. Add Vanilla and whisk in powdered sugar to make a thin spreadable frosting.

Brush frosting on quickly, cover generously and completely. Makes 24 large cinnamon rolls. Don’t even think about making a smaller batch. If you have any let over the next day and don’t want to microwave them, day old cinnamon rolls make the best bread pudding.

Rosalie, Toby, and family came down in June this year and we got to take pictures of the little ones. It was a long evening getting everyone to sit still and smile all the same time. Never-the-less we had a good time. Here are some of my favorite pictures.
